Ciao a tutti, vi avevamo lasciato con la frase che non avremmo pubblicato nulla prima dell’evento dell’82° anniversario dello sbarco di Anzio/Nettuno, perché non avevamo un programma. Era tutto vero, infatti avevamo un sogno.

Abbiamo atteso che questo sogno si avverasse ed oggi il nostro unico programma è quello di raccontarlo a voi che ci seguite.

Raccontare a tutti voi che la Terza Divisione di Fanteria US Army, sbarcata a Nettuno il 22 gennaio del 1944 è tornata a Nettuno per le celebrazioni dell’82° anniversario e noi eravamo con loro ed abbiamo condiviso con loro questi giorni e tutti quelli precedenti, dell’organizzazione e pianificazione del viaggio.

Per chi come me e come tutti i soci dell’avamposto italiano vive con orgoglio e onore questa appartenenza sono stati giorni indimenticabili. Quando la bandiera della 3ID ha iniziato a sventolare tra le croci del prato verde ho sentito che una parte grande del viaggio si era conclusa con quella scena che mi dava i brividi e ne stava per iniziare una nuova che ancora non conosco ma so che insieme a loro, al Gen. Lubas ed alla sua fantastica squadra potremo onorare e ricordare i nostri eroi e mantenere la promessa fatta ai reduci di far conoscere il loro sacrificio per la liberazione dell’Italia da nazifascimo.

Scriverò molto su questi giorni, le parole mi corrono veloci per la testa come su un’autostrada nella notte, rallentano, si sorpassano e poi corrono via. E’ stato tutto così intenso, forte, emozionante, riflessivo, che un solo articolo non basta, le sole mie parole non bastano.

Sapevo che la Terza Divisione di Fanteria è una grande famiglia, che ti accoglie e dalla quale non sai più andare via, ma quello che ho provato in questi giorni è che ti entra nel sangue e alimenta il cuore. Buona visione del primo gruppo di foto.

Hello everyone, we left you with the statement that we would not publish anything before the event marking the 82nd anniversary of the landing at Anzio/Nettuno, because we did not have a program. It was all true; in fact, we had a dream.

We waited for this dream to come true, and today our only plan is to tell you, our followers, about it.

To tell you all that the US Army's Third Infantry Division, which landed in Nettuno on January 22, 1944, returned to Nettuno for the 82nd anniversary celebrations, and we were with them and shared these days with them, as well as all the days leading up to them, organizing and planning the trip.

For those like me and all the members of the Italian outpost who live this membership with pride and honor, these were unforgettable days. When the 3ID flag began to fly among the crosses on the green lawn, I felt that a large part of the journey had ended with that scene that gave me chills, and a new one was about to begin that I do not yet know, but I know that together with them, Gen. Lubas and his fantastic team, we will be able to honor and remember our heroes and keep the promise made to the veterans to make known their sacrifice for the liberation of Italy from Nazi-Fascism.

I will write a lot about these days. The words race through my head like on a highway at night, slowing down, overtaking each other, and then racing away. It has all been so intense, powerful, exciting, and reflective that a single article is not enough, my words alone are not enough.

I knew that the Third Infantry Division is a big family that welcomes you and that you never want to leave, but what I have felt these past few days is that it gets into your blood and feeds your heart. Enjoy the first set of photos.
