Il borgo originale, di cui oggi restano i resti della Chiesa del XVII secolo e dei pochi palazzi circostanti, fu edificato intorno al 1100 e poi abbandonato intorno agli anni ’50. Un viaggio nel nel vecchio borgo va fatto con animo sereno, Chia è l'immagine di tutto ciò che ci circonda è l'immagine di noi stessi. Chia vuole dirci, nel suo silenzio, che nulla è per sempre e che occorre cogliere sempre l'attimo, come diceva Orazio al suo Leuconoe. Perchè non ritorna più. Chia ti attacca alla vita come le poche persone che ancora oggi ne animano le poche case e si godono il silenzio di panorami bellissimi.
